Everyone is welcome! DLL members and nonmembers alike are encouraged to register, participate, and take advantage of these learning opportunities.

Using the Critical Friends’ Perspective for Addressing Difficult Situations in Our Field
Dr. Stephen Kroeger is known for his lively presentations and use of a cartoon format to illustrate concepts and to teach critical skills to individuals with disabilities. He will use the critical friends framework to illustrate how we can recruit colleagues to participate in constructive problem-solving when faced with a challenge or dilemma in teaching (or life!). The discussion introduces diverse perspectives from participants, is constructive and supportive and allows the person presenting the challenge to use input from friends. The presenter then can assess and use the feedback to identify ways to address a dilemma. This approach recognizes and acknowledges diverse perspectives, provides a supportive platform for discussing challenges with others in a meaningful and time-limited manner.

Keeping Pace with AI While Leading with Wisdom
Dr. Lisa Dieker, a recognized national expert in both special education and AI technology, will address the rapidly changing AI landscape with an overview of opportunities and challenges for professionals in our field. She will end with strategies for how DLL members can provide thoughtful leadership and experience around AI use, and examples of practical ways to use AI for personal as well as professional activities.

Tested Strategies for Prevention and Response to Maltreatment of Children with Disabilities
CEC’s 2025 Position Statement on Preventing and Responding to Maltreatment of Children with Disabilities provides important guidance for creating safe, inclusive learning environments. This three-part webinar series highlights key recommendations and practical strategies for recognizing maltreatment, understanding risk factors, and strengthening school safety practices. Participants will also explore resources from the CEC Bright Spots website.
Each session is approximately 60–75 minutes. Registration includes all three recorded sessions, along with links to handouts and resources.
